Race bodywork leaves the back of an R1 as blank as the front. This is the sticker for that - the 2015-on tail light, reproduced on 3M vinyl.

One thing worth checking first: the R1 headlight sets for 2015-2019 and 2020+ both include this tail light, and the set price beats buying the two ends separately.

The same shape covers the R1 and R1M from 2015 onwards. Also called a fake tail light sticker or mock rear light decal.
