Headlight decals for the Yamaha YZF-R9 are ready

Yamaha put the R9 on sale for 2025 and the aftermarket race bodywork followed almost immediately. That is usually the moment the problem starts: you bolt on a race fairing, step back, and the front of the bike is blank.

The YZF-R9 headlight decal set is ready now, not next season.

Why the R9 needed its own set

People assume a new Yamaha will share a face with something already in the range. The R9 does not. It is not an R7 with a bigger engine and it is nothing like an R6 at the front - the light sits differently, the intake around it is a different shape, and the proportions are its own.

We tried the neighbouring sets on it first, because if one of them had worked we would have said so and saved everyone the trouble. None of them did. So the R9 got drawn from scratch: photographed on a real bike, measured, cut, test-fitted, corrected, cut again.

Getting there early matters

When a bike is new, the people buying race bodywork for it are the ones who cannot wait - first season, first races, first trackdays. Those are exactly the riders who end up running a season with a blank nose because nobody has drawn the decal yet.

That has been the pattern here since 2013. The BMW S1000RR 2019 set was ready before anyone else had one. The ZX-4R the same. The R9 is no different.

What is in the set

A pair of decals on 3M polymeric vinyl under a UV resistant laminate. It follows the curve of the fairing, so there is nothing to trim, and it survives a hot session, a pressure washer and brake cleaner without lifting.

Riders search for this as a fake headlight sticker, a mock headlight decal or a simulated headlight graphic. It is all the same set.
